Why You Should You Read My Book?

It’s strange but this is one of the questions I asked myself for years before I ever wrote a book. I thought, “Who would want to read something I wrote?” For ten years, this question kept me from writing. The Lord, one day in prayer, might have been frustrated with me. He said to me, “I didn’t tell you to write so that people would read it. Write because I told you to write.” I still remember that day in prayer. And I started writing and I have been writing ever since. And in a strange way, this is why I would encourage you to read my book.
Too often, we try to answer the why of God’s command before submitting to simple obedience.
The ability to trust the Lord is to obey without understanding. It is to trust that God really is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving. He doesn’t have to explain to me why. I trust the He has a reason that is good for me and all involved.
Trust is hard though. We all have vile affections where we grasp too tightly things, people, pain, dreams, and desires. These produce emotions that make obedience difficult. If you have ever tried to forgive someone who has hurt you deeply, you know how difficult this is, yet God calls us to trust Him.
And His promise for those who do? He will make your path straight. Instead of roaming around in emotional circles creating ruts where life gets bogged down, He breaks us free so we can move to the place He has planned for us. Like the Israelites finally getting out of the desert to cross over into the Promised Land, we must stop living life in negative patterns. Trust in God brings new direction and new release of His goodness.
In With All Your Heart, I lay out the principles of Scripture that teach us how to lay down those things that keep us in negative cycles to allow God to break us free into a new dimension of abundant life. This is why I think you should read my book 🙂 And here is a free preview where you can read my book and then get it from Amazon if you want to read more.

Guard Your Heart
Do you believe God has a beautiful plan for your life? If you don’t, you are denying Scripture and the very words of God. He has said that He has a plan for your life and that plan is beyond comprehension filled with hope, purpose, and prosperity of the soul (Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, Ephesians 2:10). These bring meaning and enjoyment to life. But how do we find this plan? let’s consider this passage:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will. Refresh Your Soul
I met with a saint of a lady yesterday. She is an ‘older’ lady with the energy of a 30-year-old. Working so very hard to do the work of the Lord in the church and in her family, she presses on each day. We met to talk about a few things and prayer requests she had on her mind. As we talked, she mentioned how some had encouraged her to slow down. They said that she needed to learn how to say ‘no’ sometimes.
I do not disagree that we must learn how to say ‘no’ to some things in life. I believe one of the tactics of the enemy is to get us so tired that it causes health, relational, emotional, then spiritual issues for us. We need to learn how to decide what God wants us to do and stick to that and not overwhelm ourselves. Nevertheless, the balance to this is that working for the Lord has a very positive effect on how we feel…Read More
Killing That Part of Yourself That You Hate
Does anyone else out there ever hate what they do?
There are times when we do the same horrible thing that we have done a thousand times before and we get so angry with who we are. We find ourselves losing our temper, getting drunk again, looking at porn, meeting up again with a lover who is not our spouse, not speaking up for ourselves. And we hate that part of who we are. If that is you, today’s Verse of the Day brings hope to a dark place.
