1 Corinthians 2:9
⁹ However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him— (NIV)

Today’s truth reminds us that no one, no one, has seen the glory of God’s plan for your life. When people attempt to limit who you are, what you might become, and all you may accomplish, they are not speaking the truth. Our pursuit in listening must always be to find the truth of God, which is the only truth. It is the truth that sets us free to pursue His plan for our life.

No eye has seen. Not only have you not seen the wonders God has planned for you, but neither has anyone else. No matter what they try to prophesy about you, they speak in ignorance. Whether it is a parent, sibling, ex-spouse, or boss, they are not privy to God’s plan for your life.

The context of our passage today reminds us that God’s wisdom is a mystery that has been hidden yet it has been destined for our glory. And the Spirit will reveal it to us.

Not only have other eyes never seen God’s plan for your life, but neither have you. It is the Holy Spirit who reveals the plans of God. And the Spirit speaks truth and guides us into all truth. We should not expect for a sudden revelation of all God has planned for our life. But as we walk with the Spirit, He guides us into all truth. At each decision point in life, He will reveal which way we must go.

The Bible says His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path. It is not a giant billboard lighting up the highway of our life with all the answers. The Spirit guides us into all truth as a lamp illuminates our next step on a dark path.

We must learn to discern what people say to us about us. And as we walk with the Spirit, we will know who speaks life into our soul working with the Spirit to bring us to our true path. And we will know which words must be discarded. Even if the words come from those who love us, we must test the spirit behind the words. If they are not from God, they are not for us.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to live on Your Word and walk in the Holy Spirit so I might live into the beautiful plan You have for my life. Amen.
