Waiting on God.

Right now, there are 2.2 billion Christians in the world. And Christ has also heavily influenced the other major religions giving Christ a prominent place in 75% of the world’s population. It all started with two young kids giving birth to a baby that would lay in a manger.

The Bible says we should not despise small beginnings.

It is crazy when you consider how impatient we are with God and His fulfillment of promises though He showed us how He does things. He starts small.

Things were slower back then and time has only sped up and engorged itself in more activity and technology. No wonder we want everything now. The more technology designed to save time only makes us multi-task even more. The pace of life is daunting. But God’s way is little by little.

If God moved as quick as our time or as quick as we desired, so much would be lost. Christ didn’t simply come to Earth, then quickly run to the cross to propitiate our sin. He was suckled at his mother’s breast, learned to walk and talk, grew up under the tutelage of his father, and spent three solid years in ministry before His crucifixion and resurrection. Because of God’s slow pace, we didn’t just receive the gift of salvation, but we learned the heart of God. It’s this lesson that moves us to desire salvation.

When things are moving slow, do not despise the delay. Do not detest the unknowing. As you continue to wait, let the object of your prayer keep you in the presence of God. Use this time to learn His heart. Discover the depth of His love for you. You will come to a place where He is all you really want. Blessings will never become dangerous for your faith. The heart of God will always far outweigh anything God might give to you.

Scripture says we must learn to be still to know God intimately. Being still, slowing down, taking time to meditate, pray, and commune with God is the beginning of greater things. Like a baby that would change the world, God’s delay will produce miracles for those who learn to wait.
