Trusting God’s Timing

Galatians 4:4-5
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. (NIV)

When the time had fully come, God sent His Son. The phrase ‘when the time had fully come’ is rich in meaning. Who was to know when the time was fully come?

The answer, of course, is the Lord. He knew when the time had fully come. He knew the perfect moment for Christ to be placed within time for the salvation of the world. No one advised God. No one set up indicators. There was no deliberation. God simply knew

The ways of God come from the fullness of all wisdom in perfect timing for all things. When God moves, it is the perfect time for His repositioning based on His perfect provision for our salvation, sanctification, and soul prosperity. When He gives the devil permission to move, again it is perfect timing bursting out of the ultimate wisdom. Who are we to argue the moment, the circumstance, the provision, the personnel, the hardship, the pain, the glory, or the purpose? The Omniscient One plans perfectly for our good.

Christ was born into this world at the perfect moment politically, socially, economically, and geographically. Christ was born to the perfect woman with the perfect choice of a human father. He was born in the flesh in the fire-hot political unrest of the Roman occupation of Israel within the context of the corrupt religious elite in Israel. It was an occupying government that allowed the occupied nation to continue to run much in the way it would have but with excessive taxing. The stage was set perfectly for the dawning of the Son of Man.

Not only this, but God, being fully aware of our every thought and movement before we are conceived, allows Him to plan perfectly His responses to what we will do, say, and think to create the perfect plan to redirect us when we stray and spur us on when we do what is right.

We strive to trust the Lord with our money, our relationship, and our ministries, but do we put forth the same effort to trust God’s timing? Whether His timing produces excruciating pain or euphoric praise, He has planned perfectly to press us all toward Heaven.

Prayer: Lord, help me to trust Your timing in the big events and the small moments of life knowing You have a plan perfectly mapped out in ultimate wisdom for my eternal good. Amen.
