A Life With Purpose

What does it look like to live life with a purpose? Mary fits her entire life into one moment. From total obscurity to beyond blessed for all generations.

We have looked at many different aspects of what it means to be blessed, but here we find the result of a blessed state. Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has influenced and will continue to influence every generation until Christ returns.

To be blessed is to be a life with purpose. We are blessed to be blessed. There is no greater meaning in life than knowing our life has made a positive difference in the lives of those around us. The greater the blessing, the greater our influence.

Jabez prayed to the Lord, “Increase my territory.” This is not a prayer for prosperity, but influence. Help me to overflow in the character of Christ that I carry Him with me into every situation, every conversation, every relationship.

The Holy Spirit is a spirit of power. Power creates change. The power of the Holy Spirit softens hearts, turns children back to their parents and parents to their children. The power of the Holy Spirit can restore marriages and renew hope in the suicidal. This power is for us through the Holy Spirit and what a blessing that is. But the greater blessing is to introduce the Holy Spirit into the lives of others.

I said recently in a sermon and I want to say again, “God has created you to be a miracle.” It is not that anything can be done by you, but you are the conduit of Heaven’s power for healing, restoration, renewal, salvation, and wisdom. Everywhere you go, you have in you the potential for miraculous things.

Mary was able to grasp the weightiness of the moment. Her blessing was bigger than her own life. Her blessing would give birth to miracles all over the world for all generations.

There will never be another Mary, but all of us have the Holy Spirit in the womb of our soul. You were created to make a difference. Don’t shy away from difficult moments. The Lord has anointed you to move mountains and change circumstances. Live by the Spirit and you will be a blessing for generations to come, even after you have gone Home.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remember the Your power in me that is to be birthed into the world right where I am. Amen.
